What will you do with your experiences? There is greater after this! There is a greater plan and a greater purpose… and a greater meaning in order to gain a greater understanding! What role will you play in the aftermath of the here and now?
We go through things in life for a reason. Sometimes we don't understand and oftentimes we don't want to endure. But, we must in order to fulfill the greater plan for the benefit of all. If you're feeling lost in life, and can't seem to find meaning or a way of escape, dig deep within, soul-search, pray and fast, and let God guide your path!
In today's world, with so much uncertainty and unprecedented events taking place, we often get overseen or overlooked. Others seem to not notice our need for comfort or affection, and we walk in silence, bearing the heavy burden of life- alone. Well, today, I'm letting you know I care! I care about how you're doing. I care that you may need a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or just the mere presence of another person. I'm here for you and you are not alone! Feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to talk, pray or simply vent! We are all in this together!
All that we are and all that we have been given is to be used for the glory and honor of God. We are stewards over that which we have, and God owns it. Let not get arrogant and think that just because we have possession of something, that we are to glut in it. We must be willing to use our gifts, talents and blessings to help someone, encourage someone, leave our circumstance better than we found it, and simply give back. That which God has given unto you, something is required of you!
By the unction of the Holy Spirit, I was guided and directed to write my testimony. I just couldn’t keep it to myself. The power of God in my life is just too precious to keep it all to myself. We all have a testimony, what’s yours?
Keeping your testimony of God to yourself is like indulging in a smörgåsbord, alone. It’s as though you have so much substance to go around, but you only want to keep it to yourself. Your testimony is not for you. What God has done in your life is meant to be a light to the world so that others may be encouraged and inspired to believe and trust in God.
So, what’s Your Story? What has God done for you? The world needs to know, share it. Be guided by God to know what, how and when to share. Just don’t keep all of the goodness of God to yourself. Someone needs to hear what you have to say.
So, what’d you do with your life today? Did you take the necessary steps (no matter how small or big) to get you closer to reaching your goal(s)? Do you have any goals? If not, why not? If so, do you have them written down and do they meet the oh-so-ever advantageous SMART criteria?
What exactly is a goal? In essence, a goal is the object of one’s efforts, ambition or motivation to achieve a desired result and is personal to the individual striving to achieve it. A goal can be set for anything you desire whether it is to improve your health, reach a higher income bracket, travel to a certain destination or what have you. A goal can be long-term (3-5 years) short-term (2 weeks to 5 months) or daily.
If you have no goals set you’re your life, ask yourself “why?” Are you afraid of failing, don’t think that setting and reaching goals is important or is it that you don’t know how to goal set or where to even begin?
If you do have goals, using the SMART criteria can be a manageable and comprehensive guide to help you achieve them. Let’s explore what each letter in the SMART acronym stands for:
S specific, significant, stretching – let your goals be as detailed as possible so that it acts as a roadmap and can guide you if you get stuck
M measurable, meaningful, motivational- let your goals have specific timing and take the necessary steps to meet benchmarks
A agreed upon, attainable, achievable, acceptable, action-oriented- let your goals be something that you know that you can accomplish. Do what you know you can do, so that you position yourself to achieve
R realistic, relevant, reasonable, rewarding, results-oriented- the more realistic your goal, the more likely you will reach it, period.
T time-based, time-bound, timely, tangible, trackable- let your goal have timelines that you reach so that when you reach the end, your goal will have already manifested or is in the process of manifesting.
Remember this, your life has purpose. Let every day be an opportunity to fulfill that purpose. If you don’t know what that purpose is, pray- be quiet and in that silence, deep within your soul, the answer will show up.
Ever find yourself dealing with the same situation and the same circumstance over and over and over again? Does it seem like an ever-perpetuating throne is in your side and it keeps on poking and prodding the very core of your being? Why is it that we sometimes see the same experience undertone in different experiences in our lives? This question can be answered from two different angles.
1. What must we learn that we have not yet perfected? We must first understand that we go through seasons in our life that are meant to build our character. It’s within those seasons that we may experience something that helps bring forth that which we need to learn. These experiences keep on showing up because we haven’t yet learned the essence of the lesson. We must find another way to respond to that experience in order to take away what it came to teach us. It’s like someone came to hand you a gift and you keep on forgetting to take it. That person has to keep coming back to you and will not leave you alone until you take the gift out of their hand. What is it that you are struggling with? The answer to overcoming it is to learn the lesson that it is meant to teach. Take a moment to think about it, meditate on it and analyze it. Most importantly, take it to God and ask for the revelation. Chances are, we are meant to go through these experiences in order to perfect our character.
2. What in our generational bloodlines? What has been transferred from past generations that have shown up in you? Do you see a pattern of behaviors or lifestyles that were prevalent with your parents, grandparents, etc? Is there a similar familial theme that flows from generation to generation? If so, chances are that you are dealing with a cycle of generational spirit transfers. Again, take this to God in prayer so that you can perfect that which is good and break free from that which is not.
No one needs to know, but anyone can tell when you have truly forgiven those who have offended you. The heaviness of un-forgiveness will be lifted off of you and your entire aura will flourish like the rays of the sunshine of a brand new day. Easier said than done, right? Forgiveness is indeed an internal process which takes courage, time and a whole lot of strength. What exactly is forgiveness? It’s a pardoning of one’s act of offence or breach against you. Just because you have forgiven, DOES NOT mean that you condone the behaviors of your offender. Rather, it simply implies that no matter how difficult it may be, you have made the courageous decision to accept the offensive experience as a means of becoming a better human being. Now, acceptance DOES NOT mean that you condone the behavior of your offender, neither. Acceptance means that you have chosen to receive the lessons that have resulted from the offensive actions against you. What will you do with these lessons? Perhaps, you can gain wisdom, strength, resilience, or a heart of compassion for others who experienced what you have. Forgiveness and acceptance is an internal decision, expressed outwardly. Making the decision to do such begins within you, when you are ready. The end result is an unmistakable knowingness that you have made the right decision- for yourself of course. Once forgiveness has taken place, your heart, mind and soul will be at peace. Forgiveness may not be easy, but it is possible and necessary for your healing.
There is no other relevant moment then now-the here and the now. Yesterday doesn’t matter anymore and tomorrow will make way for itself. Really, though? How much truth actually resides in the aforementioned? I’m beginning to realize that we are given this gigantic bubble of opportunity where the only things that matter is how we plan to utilize, maximize and capitalize on the "opportunity". Time, dates, yesterdays, tomorrows and forever’s (maybe even the idea of "now") are merely perceptions, perhaps a figment of the imagination. Let’s focus on getting better, building on our personal gifts and talents in order to express ourselves to the utmost of our God-given abilities.
